Waxing Care Guide
Before your Wax
Hair needs to be about 1cm long before it can be waxed in order for the wax to effectively grip it. Therefore leave at least 3 weeks since your last shave (4 weeks since last wax).
If your hair is very long, we will trim with clippers prior to waxing.
Exfoliating your skin a day or two prior to your appointment helps remove dead skin and can be beneficial.
Please shower before your treatment, but not within 1 hour.
After your Wax
You will want to look great after your wax treatment. However It's normal to experience
slight redness or small bumps after waxing but these should start to go within 48
hours. You can minimise any after-effects by following this advice:
1. Cool
Keep the waxed area clean, and avoid heat and friction during the next 48 hours.
Avoid hot baths or showers.
Avoid saunas, hot tubs or steam rooms.
No tanning (in any form including sunbathing, fake tan or sunbeds) for 48 hours.
Avoid sport and exercise, including the gym.
2. Clean
Try not to touch the waxed areas for a few days – this is one of the quickest ways to get spots.
If you need to touch the waxed area make sure your hands are clean.
3. Calm
Wear clean, loose fitting clothing - or nothing if you can.
Avoid any form of friction or heat to the skin.
Avoid swimming – chlorine and freshly waxed skin don't mix well.
Don't use perfumed deodorants or body sprays directly on the area.
To soothe sore skin, apply an antiseptic cream like Savlon to the waxed area .
Using an antibacterial skin wash will also assist with healing should any pimples appear.
The following additional precautions should be taken for 48 hrs after Intimate waxing:
Be cautious with sexual activity.
Wear clean underwear and avoid tight-fitting clothing that may cause friction or sweating.
Take extra care with cleanliness after using the toilet.
Ingrown hairs. Here's your exfoliation problem-solving guide:
Step 1
2 days after waxing, gently exfoliate the waxed area - use a facial exfoliator wash which will be more gentle. Do this 2 or 3 times per week.
Step 2
You'll also need to moisturise the area every day. It helps provide a smooth surface for the new hair.

Apply antiseptic cream to affected areas 3 times in the 24 hours following treatment if you haven't already.
If skin feels hot after treatment, bathe with cold salt-water solution regularly in the hours following treatment. This reduces inflammation and speeds up the healing process.
